CTN 20th Anniversary Conference & Dinner 'Looking back with pride - looking forward with anticipation'20th May 2009 - Thank you to all who attendedCitigate Sebel Sydney, Level 1, 28 Albion Street, Surry Hills The annual CTN Conference is Australia's premier event focusing on issues concerning residential consumers of telecommunications. The 2009 CTN Conference will trace the Australian telecommunications sector from a wholly government-owned fixed-line telephone provider in 1989 to a sector with hundreds of businesses providing a multiplicity of communications services across a diverse mix of mediums and technologies. The conference will focus on the role of consumer representation in telecommunications over the 20 years. It is a valuable forum for consumer, industry and government representatives to debate and discuss better outcomes for residential consumers of telecommunications in the future, which will also have a positive impact on the industry as a whole. Furthermore, with the development of the new peak telecommunications consumer representative body, the Australian Communications Consumer Action Network (ACCAN), the conference will gather participants' perspectives on the role of consumers in communications for the future. The 2009 CTN Anniversary Dinner will follow the conference bringing together the people and personalities from CTN's 20 year history to celebrate the smooth times and the rough. A trivia competition will be held with questions covering CTN's history.
