CTN's Vision

CTN is the premier voice of residential consumers in telecommunications, promoting equity in access, quality of service and affordability for all Australians.

CTN's Objectives

  1. to provide a forum for the discussion of telecommunications matters that are of common interest to consumer organisations, and the development of familiarity with telecommunications issues amongst consumer groups;
  2. to represent the views of member organisations of the Network on matters affecting consumers in all forums including public debate about telecommunications;
  3. to focus attention on consumer telecommunications problems and concerns, and to promote the consideration of consumer interests and the interests of the community in the development of government and corporate policy relating to telecommunications;
  4. to collect and disseminate information relating to telecommunications, and to develop familiarity with telecommunications issues;
  5. to prepare, and assist members of the Network to co-operate in the preparation of, research, reports and submissions relating to telecommunications;
  6. to monitor and analyse existing or proposed laws, policies and services relating to telecommunications;
  7. to conduct research to assist in the achievement of the above objectives;
  8. to pursue any other activities that the members in general meetings as provided for in these Objects decided are appropriate which are not inconsistent with the aforementioned objects; and
  9. 9. to do all such things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the objects and the exercise of the powers of the Network.
